Trust Him

We live in a fallen and broken world…

All around us, every day, we are reminded of this truth. Evil visits tragic consequences in our communities too often and leaves unimaginable pain in its wake. A grocery store where 10 people, mostly Black, are killed by an 18 year old white supremacist who traveled from hours away and intentionally targeted that store…An elementary school in Uvalde, Tx where 19 children no older than 10 years old and 2 adults are dead, killed by an 18 year old who attended a nearby high school.

It’s true, we need those who hold political offices to enact meaningful legislation to help prevent these evil actions. We need the support of surrounding communities and congregations to put their arms around those who are directly affected by these tragedies. But in addition, these are times when must individually and collectively hold on to our faith in our God. We come from a people who refused to give up even when faced with the most horrific evil and tragedy. Their legacy to us is both that we fight to overcome the evil that we are subjected to, and that we hold on to our faith in God to fight with us and give us the victory. Yes, we do live in a fallen and broken world, but He promised to be with us…through even our darkest times. Trust Him to walk with you through the fear, pain and anger…and to restore your strength to engage in the battle against evil.

Blessings,
