Insights of Hope
The ‘Hood
This week, we will get together with a few good friends or not just to hang out or maybe watch a game like the Super Bowl. It is always a fun time because we get to reminisce with old friends and maybe meet new ones. Whether you are hanging with people or going it alone, there is more relationship building that we all can work on. Why? Look at the example in today’s Devotion …
Too Comfortable
We love having days where we can just sit back and relax. Nothing that we need to do or responsibilities to take care of. It seems like all is right in the world. Maybe too right. Have you ever had that feeling that maybe something is wrong in that moment? Not that there is cause worry, but sometimes being comfortable might be a sign that something needs to change. That’s what today’s devotion is about. When comfort may not be where we want to be …
Free Indeed
Do you seek freedom from something? Perhaps it might be debt or pain. In some cases, it might be responsibilities or agreements that we must follow through on. Sometimes, we feel indebted to everyone. Well, there is freedom to be found, and this freedom was already paid for. Read on if you want to learn more ….
The Battle Is Still The Lord’s
God is still able and willing to fight the battles of His people, whenever they turn to Him in faith, believing that He can and He will!
God Loves Them?
We are all expected to grow in many aspects. Not in height per say but experience, knowledge, and others. Some are not so easy. Dr. Martin Luther King presented one seemingly impossible one, which is to love your enemy. How can love someone you do not really like? Today’s devotion might start you down that very path …
Savior vs. Doer
Actions speak louder than words. We all understand that to be true. However, there are times where that may not be as accurate as we’ve been told. For example, a friend who gives you a hundred dollars might seem more valuable than the one who could only give you $20. But what if the one who gave you $20 did not have anything left to give while the one who gave you $100 had thousands but only gave you $100? You see there’s more to giving than just an amount. There’s what is in a person’s heart. Today’s devotion focuses on what’s in the heart. Not the wallet …
Assess and Believe
Preparing for the new year should be an exciting ritual. We can reflect on our past year looking at both challenges we’ve faced and overcome and areas where we can look to be better. No matter where you are today, believe that tomorrow always is a brighter day even amid darker times. Today’s devotion I hope will give you some insights how that might happen …
Let It Shine
We all have moments of self-doubt. We believe who we are, and yet, we hear so much of who we are that we begin to question if that person that we believe we are truly exists. Today’s devotion is about fighting to be the person God wants us to be. So, if you are challenged by the person others say you are, this is for you …
Opposites
Sometimes we focus too much on what is said and not enough on what it means. For example, when someone says, do not walk across the frozen pond, that does not mean you cannot walk across the bridge above it. You minimize your options when you focus on what you cannot do and can accomplish more by focusing on what you can do. Today’s devotion is an exercise on understanding how sometimes God’s words show a restriction that gives more freedom.
