Insights of Hope
Pouring In
Lately I have started to write a blog about more than just God. For those who believe it is to promote myself, it has little to do with it. There are family and friends that shared wisdom with me over the years, and when I share it with others, they are incredibly receptive to it. I heard the expression that a lot of people poured into you with the hope that you would make a difference. Thus, I am trying to return the favor. Today’s devotion echoes that concept of what you put in will eventually come out …
Have Faith
One of my favorite YouTube videos is a clip of a football player whose team had won a game against a team who was thought to be the far better team. As he gets to the microphone, he boasts, “To all the non-believers,” dedicating the win to the motivation provided by all those who doubted them. In life, we all have doubters. Most notably, they are the ones who seemed to have known you the longest. However, there are others who have always believed in the best for you. Today’s devotion is about one of those who has always believed …
Paying The Cost
Have it your way! Man, I’ve heard that since I was a little kid at Burger King. Even my mother had a hand in that, but it was more the ‘my way or the highway’ type proving back then I could not have it my way. We all want our way particularly when we believe it is right. But what about when we do not get our way? Is it that important that we do no matter the cost? Today’s devotion is about another way that benefits all …
Such A Time Like This
Have you ever heard the saying, “Sometimes, you don’t choose the moment, the moment chooses you?” I have heard that when there were times either I or an individual was not ready for it. For example, I was ready to go to school for a semester with my mom in a hospital and alone in an apartment. But it molded my character. We all have moments in our life that we are not ready for. But more times than not, we look back to find out we made for that moment. Today’s devotion is about knowing that perhaps now is one of those moments …
Quiet Time … For You
Let’s be honest. We all live a very distracted life. We are dealing with our thoughts being constantly inundated with information that seems to flow to us non-stop. Working for an IT company, it is built into my DNA. With all that comes in, it can become quite a challenge to detach from it all. If you are one of those like me who loves to know everything, here is your precautionary tale. You need quiet time, and here’s why …
Their Views
Politics is part of our society. There are many issues that we could debate on what is right and wrong. Many believe faith plays a role in it. There are times where that is certainly the case. However, where do we draw a line? Are there things that are bigger than our political stance? While the water can at times be murky, there are times it should never apply. Here’s why …
Victory!
Are you climbing a mountain? Are you facing an uphill battle where there is seemingly no hope for success? I have been there, and in some circumstances, am still there. But yesterday’s birthday gave me a reminder of why despite my circumstances, I should always have hope. You should too. Today’s devotion is why …
The Good In Us
When struggling through my early teen years, I often wondered if I would ever be able to reach the lofty expectations had for me. Many of us felt that way. Did we hit the mark? Did we achieve the goals our parents had for us? Here is one many of us heard. Did we do better than what our parents did for us? Too often, we only see our failures. But you know what? Wherever you are in your journey, there is a lot of good you have done! Your parents know this. But guess who else needs to know this? Find out …
Taking The L
Everyone revels in winning. Whether it is at work or home, no one wants to lose. In fact, some people do not know how to lose. But what if I told you that sometimes a loss is not really a loss. Mature couples know that if you win all the time, the other side has to lose, and would you want your better half to be a loser? Maybe 😊 But the question is if you would lose a battle to win a war, would you? That answer is yes. There is a group of people who lost all the time, and yet won not only in the end but also for others who did not even know them. Who? Find out here …
Bad Gospel
When you eat something bad, it is the worst feeling. My wife had an experience after eating a sandwich on our honeymoon, and she refuses to go to that restaurant ever since. I even stayed away from it just remembering her experience. I share this because nothing could speak to the feeling one might get when someone gets the wrong message about who Jesus Christ is particularly if it is a horrible experience. That is what today’s devotion is about. How to avoid giving a bad experience …
